Rear Derailleur 12 Speed Shimano XT RD-M8200 Shadow

The Shimano Deore XT RD-M8200-SGS is Shimano’s most capable mechanical 12-speed rear derailleur. Built for riders who push hard across every discipline, from enduro racing to all-day trail adventures.

The standout upgrade over previous XT generations is the new wedge-shaped, low-profile body.

Designed to deflect away from trail impacts rather than take them head-on, it’s paired with an internal spring that absorbs hits from rocks and roots and returns the derailleur to position. So a pedal strike doesn’t become a trail-side repair.

SHADOW ES chain stabilisation. Awider, stronger evolution of Shimano’s original SHADOW clutch concept.

Keeps your chain locked on and quiet through rough terrain. Covered pulleys and shielded pulley teeth add another layer of protection, keeping trail debris out of the drivetrain where it can cause damage or slow your shifts.

With HYPERGLIDE+ technology and a 510% gear range, the RD-M8200-SGS pairs with any 10-51T 12-speed cassette for fast, load-bearing shifts across the full range.

Key specs:

• Speeds: 12
• Cage length: Long (SGS)
• Clutch: SHADOW ES
• Cassette compatibility: HYPERGLIDE+ 10-51T 12-speed
• Gear range: 510%
• Design: Wedge-shaped, low-profile impact-deflecting body

A natural pairing with the Shimano XT M8100 12-speed cassette and M8200 shifter for a complete, trail-ready XT drivetrain.
